Chief Financial Officer

Victoria Newitt Recruitment Inc has been retained by our Client to search for a Chief Financial Officer.
The Chief Financial Officer will take responsibility for its accounting, finance and information technology departments. You will be accountable for planning and directing all accounting operational functions, handling the accumulation and consolidation of financial data for internal and external financial statements, evaluating accounting and internal control systems, and leading departmental staff. This hands-on role will require effectively managing self and others within strict time constraints when providing client services, leading while also being a team player, generating innovative ideas, and challenging the status quo. Key Responsibilities:
  • Monthly financial reporting for the executive committee and partners
  • Manage the timing for monthly billing and other cash management techniques
  • Manage and monitor the creation of the annual budget and forecasts
  • Collaborate with executive team and partners to support efficient and effective firm-wide operations
  • Research, plan and implement Finance Department initiatives including software and systems implementation and other departmental or firm-wide improvements, as needed
  • Produce cash-flow reports, calculating cash needs at weekly and monthly intervals
  • Handle monthly and annual close of income statement and balance sheet, account reconciliations & G/L analysis
  • Assess deliverables of self and team to verify they meet client expectations
  • Analyze, apply and improve policies, procedures, controls and most methodologies
Skills and Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of progressive, senior level accounting experience
  • Advanced credentials such as a Masters of Business Administration / MBA or Certified Public Accountant / CPA are required
  • Self-driven motivator who takes initiative on projects with a strong ability to understand and solve creative challenges
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Skilled in the construction and delivery of effective presentations to audiences with wide-ranging backgrounds
  • Well-founded grasp of compliance auditing and cash flow analysis
  • GAAP Accounting experience preferred
  • Exposure to Risk Identification and Management
  • Experience with Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
  • Good understanding of Expense Analysis
  • Practical knowledge of Sales Tax
  • Financial statement preparation and reporting experience required
  • Wide ranging experience with KPI Reporting
  • Quality experience with budget forecasting
  • General familiarity with Annual Income Tax Provision
  • External auditing experience desired
  • Proven knowledge of internal control review
  • Solid understanding of Private Equity
  • Detailed and have the ability work independently
  • Outstanding technology, analytics and management experience required
  • Demonstrated ability in exemplary analytical, quantitative and social skills
