Location Keg Office, Richmond BC 

Job Summary 

The Director of Information Technology will be responsible for The Keg’s IT Infrastructure, system reliability and security as well as to guide the continued growth and development of the technical team. This role will leverage the successful candidate’s technical expertise in networking, Microsoft 365 administration, SQL database management, and project management capabilities to ensure The Keg is continuing to evolve its system capabilities.

Job Duties 

  1. Networking & Infrastructure Management Design, implement, and maintain the company’s IT infrastructure, including networks, servers, firewalls, and storage. Oversee the Systems Support to ensure high availability, security, and performance across all systems. 
  2. Microsoft 365 Administration Manage and optimize our Microsoft 365 environment, including Exchange Online, SharePoint, Teams, OneDrive, and Azure AD. Drive adoption of best practices for configuration, security, compliance, and change management. 
  3. SQL Database Management Administer SQL databases with a focus on performance, integrity, backups, and recovery. Collaborate closely with the database administrator on design, optimization, and ongoing improvements. 
  4. Team Leadership Supervise and support a four-person IT team. Provide mentoring, professional development opportunities, and promote a collaborative, high-performing team culture. 
  5. Project Management Lead and execute IT projects including system upgrades, cloud migrations, and new technology rollouts. Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and aligned with business goals. 
  6. Emerging Technologies & AI Integration Research, identify, implement and support AI driven tools to leverage AI and automation technologies to improve service delivery and operations. 

Job Requirements 

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. 
  • 7+ years of progressive IT experience, including at least 4 years in a leadership capacity. 
  • Proven expertise in network administration, including TCP/IP, routing, switching, VPNs, and firewalls. 
  • Hands-on experience managing the Microsoft 365 suite and a solid understanding of its security and compliance features. 
  • Familiarity with AI/ML concepts and tools, and their practical application in business or IT environments. 
  • Strong knowledge of SQL database administration, including performance tuning and backup/recovery strategies. 
  • Thorough understanding of IT security principles, risk management, and industry best practices. 
  • Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate, and develop technical teams. 
  • Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and communication skills. 
  • Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware or Hyper-V. 
  • Industry certifications such as MCSE, ITIL, Security+, or equivalent. 

Work Conditions 

  • Working in a busy office environment with frequent interruptions 
  • Attendance and conducting of presentations 
  • Occasional travel across Canada and US 
  • Overtime as required 
  • Operation of desktop computer and peripherals 
  • Ability to lift items as heavy as 10lbs on occasion
