Position Overview:
Reporting to the Director of Talent, the People & Culture Business Partner is a critical hands-on role that helps strategize, design, deliver, and create best-in-class HR programs that support the success of the organization, people aligning with ABC Recycling's values and culture. In this role, you will also develop and execute people strategies with respective business leaders to drive outcomes in the areas of recruitment, employee experience and engagement, organization design, talent development, compensation, culture, and change management.
This team member will be supporting the US based employees so the optimal candidate will be well versed in US (WA state) HR Legislation, employment standards, and US medical and dental benefits.
Duties and Responsibilities:
• Contribute to ABC’s business strategies by enhancing performance through the creation and execution of people-centric solutions.
• Analyze turnover data, exit interviews, and engagement surveys to identify trends and provide actionable recommendations to managers.
• Drive key people strategies, including team cohesion, organizational development, compensation planning, and employee development.
• Support decision-making related to stabilization, integration, cultural alignment, and overall employee experience.
• Lead full cycle employee journey, recruitment, onboarding up to and including performance management and termination.
• Model and uphold ABC’s principles and values, advocate for our established ways of working.
• Lead the planning and execution of change initiatives affecting critical functions; collaborate with stakeholders to identify and implement improvements.
• Manage employee relations and performance issues in accordance with internal guidelines.
• Apply best practices aligned with ABC’s values to build high-trust, high-performing teams in collaboration with organizational leadership.
Education and Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in business, Human Resources, or a related field
• 5+ years of related experience in human resources, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 3+ years of experience in an HR Business Partner role
• Comprehensive understanding of current Canada and US HR legislation and employment standards
• Strong business acumen
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to take the initiative, analyze, and problem solve.
• The ability to influence and impact key decisions by demonstrating deep subject matter expertise.
• Experience in a unionized environment is considered an asset.
• Strong work ethic, self-motivated, and proactive mindset
• Excellent attention to detail
• Proven ability to thrive in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment
• Payroll and Benefit administration experience an asset.

Compensation:
The range offered for this position is: $90,000 – $110,000 annually.
Compensation offered within this range is based on factors unique to each candidate, including skills, qualifications, experience and credentials.
