Victoria Newitt Recruitment Inc has been retained by Keg Restaurants Ltd to search for a Senior Finance Analyst.

Position: Senior Analyst, Finance
Reports To: Senior Director, Finance
Location: Richmond, BC – On-site


Job Summary:
The Senior Analyst, Finance is responsible for treasury, tax and compliance including daily treasury operations, tax filings and maintaining the company’s internal control over financial reporting (ICFR).
The Senior Analyst will partner closely with finance peers, external banking partners, tax consultants and external auditors.


Core Responsibilities:
Treasury

  • Monitor daily cash positions and execute cash management activities, including cash repositioning, account transfers, wire payments, stop payments and deposit uploads
  • Manage banking administration, including online user access, updating of signing authorities, resolving local bank branch issues for corporate locations, and Know Your Customer (KYC) requests
  • Manage letters of credit and complete/review credit applications
  • Prepare corporate bank reconciliations ensuring general ledger accuracy
  • Calculate and record periodic interest income accruals on cash balances and interest expense accruals on long-term debt, and the related receipts/payments of interest
Tax Compliance & Reporting
  • Prepare and file periodic sales tax returns (GST/HST, PST, QST, US state sales and use tax)
  • Prepare working papers and work with external tax advisors related to the preparation and filing of Canadian and US corporate income tax returns
  • Coordinate payment of monthly income tax instalment obligations
  • Prepare periodic corporate income tax provisions (current and deferred taxes)
  • Support tax audits, including preparation of documentation and responding to inquiries from tax authorities
  • Research and identify self-assessment obligations with various indirect taxing authorities
  • Monitor changes in tax legislation and communicate the implications to internal stakeholders
     
Other Responsibilities:
  • Be the lead liaison with external auditors, managing various requests throughout the audit
  • Research of technical accounting issues as they arise and assist in the preparation of related technical accounting memos
  • Maintain the company’s internal accounting policies documentation
  • Maintain the company’s ICFR program including regular updates to process documentation and perform testing of design and operational e􀆯ectiveness of ICFR

Employee Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 - 5 years of accounting and tax experience
  • CPA designation
  • Strong understanding of Canadian corporate income tax legislation
  • Knowledge of US corporate income tax legislation considered an asset
  • Strong technical knowledge of IFRS Accounting Standards
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
  • Knowledge and experience with designing and evaluating ICFR
  • Hospitality industry experience preferred
  • Full competency in Microsoft Suite programs


Compensation:
The range offered for this position is: $70,000 – $90,000 annually.

Compensation offered within this range is based on factors unique to each candidate, including skills, qualifications, experience and credentials.
