Earth’s Own Food Company + Happy Planet Foods to search for an Innovation Lead.

As Earth’s Own Food Company + Happy Planet Foods are looking to double their business across North America over the next three years, they are looking for an innovation rock-star to help them drive aggressive growth through new product innovation for both the Happy Planet and Earth’s Own brands.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Development of Innovation roadmap to deliver long term sales and profit growth
  • Lead innovation through an internal stage gate process
  • Conducts research as needed to gain consumer insights and assess innovation opportunities.
  • Develops product concepts to facilitate the volume and profit growth in support of annual objectives.
  • Develops forecasts and budgets for new products and participates in the overall company innovation stage gate, commercial team and budgeting process.
  • Leads commercialization of select innovation projects.
  • Manages the Innovation and marketing programs on time and within budget
  • Leads cross-functional teams effectively to achieve stated objectives
  • Works collaboratively with the Brand Marketing team
  • Prepares Sales and Trade presentations to proactively engage partners in strategic innovation projects
  • Be an effective leader of the Marketing Team and create effective working relationships across internal and external departments
  • Evaluates market reactions to product launches, making timely adjustments to strategies and plans (including formulations, packaging and merchandising approaches) to meet changing market and competitive conditions.
  • Remains current on our industry and general marketing knowledge. Keeps Management informed on developments.
  • Carries out other related duties as required.
Qualifications / Behaviors:
  • 5-10 years in marketing, with experience in lifestyle and values-led brands an asset; CPG and stage gate experience as assets
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field (marketing, business)
